And they chose these technical skills: knowledge of programs, knowledge of composition, knowledge of psychology, literacy, interest in design trends, colour matching, context awareness, teamwork, good communication skills, basic knowledge of graphic design, knowledge of the press, teamwork skills, good skills of languages. After their discussion lecturers from organisation Knowledge Code (Ziniu kodas) presented TOP employers requirements (specific to their profession), what they looking for. Discussion revealed that students are quite aware of skills required.
Most students said that they are not ready to enter the workplace after leaving education. Only one student said that she feels ready to enter the workplace. She explained that learning at vocational school is just additional, not main activity. She thinks, that preparation in a vocational school is not enough to prepare themselves for the labour market to find a job in layout design. Also, students were talking about the barrier of lack of work related specific to their studies experience, it needs to create the possibilities to gain the real work experience.
